In the 6th round of Group G of the European preliminaries of the World Cup, Poland defeated Malta 3-2 and Lewandowski scored. Malta became the 39th national team that Lewandowski has scored in his career, tying Messi and second only to Cristiano Ronaldo (48). Lukaku represented the Belgian team and scored 37 national team goals.
