According to gossip media TMZ, former NBA player Marcus Morris was arrested in Florida for suspected fraud.
Today, TMZ updated the details of the matter, and according to court documents obtained by TMZ, the NBA player allegedly obtained $115,000 from the MGM Grand Hotel Casino through a blank check in May 2024 and never paid back after the check was delayed; about a month later, he committed a similar scam at the Wynn Las Vegas Hotel Casino, scamming $150,000 through checks that he knew were undeserved. The allegations against Morris had been issued two separate warrants earlier this year, documents show.
Morris attended the court proceedings but remained silent as his lawyer spoke to the judge. His twin brother, former NBA champion Markieff Morris, also attended the court.
It is worth mentioning that Morris' total salary in his NBA career is about $107 million.
