According to ESPN famous reporter Shams Charania, several sources revealed that the Rockets sent Whitmore, the 20th pick and wing player in 2023 to the Wizards in exchange for two second round picks (2026 Bulls, 2029 Kings). Laker Central later posted a post talking about this.
"Whitmore wants to play a more important role, so it's reasonable to go to the Wizards. If he comes to the Los Angeles Lakers, he can only be a rotation player." Laker Central wrote.
