Recently, former NBA player Avery Johnson talked about the Mavericks' future prospects in an interview.
Johnson said: "If I were the Mavericks, I would have chosen Flag instead of Doncic. Once Irving and Davis stay healthy, the team will be very good. They also renewed Gafford, and Irving also renewed the contract. This team has created one of the best teams on the league's offense and defense, and they didn't even sacrifice the depth of the lineup for it."
"They have many excellent young players on the bench, as well as champion Clay. It's very exciting when a team has three future Hall of Fame members who are healthy, Irving, Davis and Clay. The Mavericks' future is bright, and if their lineup can stay healthy, the window for the championship will be in the next 2-3 seasons."
