A few days ago, Vitinha, who is regarded as the "successor of Verratti" at Paris Saint-Germain, was interviewed by France's Le Paris Radio. He praised the Italian midfielder with whom he played alongside for a season and emphasized his outstanding qualities.

Paris Saint-Germain in the 2022-23 season was not memorable. The coach at the time was Christophe Galtier, and the team's lineup structure was unbalanced, but among them, it had two of the most influential midfielders in the club's history. Verratti was experiencing his last season in Paris and his least satisfactory season at the time; while Vitinha joined the team at the age of 22 and faced the common adaptation difficulties of young players. The midfield pair had high hopes at the beginning of the season, but ultimately failed to form a tacit understanding. However, Vitinha remained full of respect for his former teammates in interviews.

Vitinha said: "It is a pleasure and an honor to play with him. I think I am still young now, but I was younger at that time and just came to the team. It is really an honor to play alongside him in the midfield."

Vitinha, who is now known as the "best midfielder in the world" and ranked third in the 2025 Ballon d'Or, then praised Verratti's all-round ability.

Vitinha said: "He is a 100% all-around midfielder. He has everything: defense, offense, vision, technology. He is a true all-around midfielder. I like to partner with him very much, and I feel that the cooperation between us is also very tacit. It is a pity that we did not play more games together, but I am very happy to be on the same court with him. He is a magician, a great midfielder."
