Former Bayern board chairman Rummenigge recently accepted an interview with German media Bild, in which he talked about Bayern's failure to sign Wilz and Waltermad this summer.

Bayern pursued Wilz for a long time this summer, and he finally transferred to Liverpool for 125 million euros. Rummenigge said in an interview: "I must be honest and I still regret it when it comes to Wilz because I think this player will develop better in Bayern Munich than in Liverpool."

After that, Bayern also failed to sign Walter Mad, and he also transferred to the Premier League and joined Newcastle. Rummenigge said to this: "We could have signed Walter Mad, but I must also say: Bayern Munich is better off not participating in every crazy financial behavior. I have always said: We want competitive success, but please be sure to have stable and solid financial guarantees."

Walter Mad transferred to Newcastle with a basic transfer fee of 85 million euros, and there is also a floating bonus of 5 million euros. Despite this, Rummenigge believes Bayern is still very competitive: "We have a top team. This year is the same. If the three injured players now (Musiara, Alfonso Davis, Ito Yoshiki) return soon, then we will have a super strong team."
