In the fourth round of the European qualifiers in the World Cup in the early morning of this morning, Italy defeated Moldova 2-0 at home. Italian striker Laspadori was interviewed by Rai Sport after the game.

People were looking forward to a big victory, but Italy only won two goals at home. What do you think of this game?

We could have expected a few more goals, which might seem easy. But while we know we have the ability to score more goals, it didn't happen. We could have scored more goals, but scoring 5 or 6 goals against these opponents was not a breeze. But we are Italy and we do have to do better.

You scored a goal in the 40th minute of the game. Should you be closer to the opponent's goal?

Considering my characteristics, the closer I get to the opponent's goal, the more dangerous opportunities I can create. But in some cases, I had to retreat more to get the ball. This is also the reason why I am at the back.

After this game, Coach Spalletti left the Italian national team. It was indeed a difficult time, but we knew we did not show our true value. I am very sorry for the coach and his team, it is not easy to find someone as good as them. I am very grateful to them because I am lucky to have received their guidance in Naples as well.

Why is the Italian national team not performing well?

I don't think it was caused by one reason. The coach will give us some instructions, but it is our players who end up playing. Our physical condition is not at its best, but this is not an excuse. We have to improve our individuality because we know it is a privilege to wear this national team jersey.

Sparetti also said that the players are very tired this season, but is it the only Italian players?

Fatigue is common to every player, and the key is how you deal with fatigue. We have to invest more on the court, not just what we have shown before.
