Barcelona President Laporta was interviewed by the media during his Asian tour and answered multiple questions.
He made it clear that the newly signed Joan Garcia had nothing to do with Ter Stegen's possible long-term absence. In addition, Laporta is open to holding La Liga matches in the United States, provided that it does not adversely affect the club.
He said: "If La Liga needs to hold a game in the United States to enhance its image and business appeal, we are willing to cooperate with La Liga arrangements. Obviously, we hope this will not have a negative impact on the team."
Laporta also thanked Lotte and its founder Hiroshi Mikitani for their support for the Asian Tour and said the club is willing to re-establish some form of partnership with the Japanese company. Previously, Lotte was the main sponsor of Barcelona, with a cooperation period from 2017 to 2022.
"They showed a strong interest, and Hiroshi Mikitani played a key role in facilitating our trip to Japan. We think they can be a good partner."
