According to ANSA news agency, the Australian Football Association has approved the overseas Serie A matches of Milan and Como and is awaiting approval from the AFC.

According to a letter sent by the Australian Football Association to Western Australia Deputy Prime Minister and Sports Minister Rita Safiotti, the Australian Football Association will submit relevant documents to the Asian Football Confederation today to approve the overseas Serie A match between Milan and Como to be held in Perth. Therefore, the final official step will be to obtain final approval from the AFC and FIFA.

In the letter, the Australian Football Association specifically emphasized that part of the proceeds will be used for Football Association projects and will attract fans and local communities to participate in activities through cooperation with Serie A, while ensuring that this game does not conflict with Australian domestic league and national team games. Football Federation Australia said the aim was to deliver practical and direct benefits to the local football community. Therefore, considering that this will be the first Serie A match to be held overseas in history and the high level of attention, the organizers of the match will proceed with a cautious and responsible attitude to ensure that it brings measurable and tangible benefits to the local area.

The decision now lies with the AFC, who will make the final decision on whether to allow the game to be held in Perth. This decision will not only affect the hosting of the competition, but also involve the interests and political power of all parties, especially the relationship with all relevant institutions.
