Inter Milan midfielder Cialhanoglu released a three-language statement in Turkish, Italian and English on social media, responding to recent rumors of leaving the team and the accusations made by Inter Milan captain Lautaro and Chairman Marotta.
Inter Milan lost to Fruminense and missed the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup. After the game, Lautaro said frankly that those who do not want to stay could leave. In this regard, Marotta directly pointed out in the interview that Lautaro was talking about Cialhanoglu, who was plagued by recent transfer scandals.
According to previous reports, Galatasaray is interested in Calhanoglu, but their offer (15 million euros) is far from Inter Milan's asking price (40 million euros).
Calhanoglu declared that
After being injured in the Champions League final, we still decided to let me go to the United States with the team. Even if I can't play, it means a lot to me to be able to support my teammates there.
Unfortunately, during training in the United States, I was injured again in another completely different part. Diagnosis results: Muscle tear. This injury prevented me from appearing in this event. There is no other reason, that's it.
Yesterday, we lost. This made me heartbroken. I feel sad, not only as a player, but also because I really care about this team. Despite my current injury, I still called and encouraged several teammates immediately after the game. Because when you really care about the team, you should do that.
But what surprised me even more was the remarks I heard later. Those words hurt people deeply, they create division, not unity.
In my career, I never made excuses and always took responsibility. I have fought with injuries, and even concealed my injuries in difficult times - not with words, but with actions. I respect every opinion – whether it is a teammate or a club president. But respect is never a one-way street.
I have always maintained respect on and off the court. I firmly believe that football is like life, and the real power lies in maintaining respect - especially when emotions are high. I have never betrayed this club, nor have I ever said "not happy at Inter." There have been tempting offers in the past, but I chose to stay. Because deep down, I understand the meaning of this jersey, and my actions have said it all.
I have the honor of being the captain of the national team and learned from it: leadership means advancing and retreating with the team—not shirking responsibility in times of trouble.
I love football, I love this club, and I am willing to fight for the color of this battle robe every day.
What will happen in the future? Let's wait and see. But history will eventually remember those who are truly noble, not those who are noisy.
