Leverkusen midfielder Andreich and Bayern midfielder Kimmich have established a deep friendship over the years. However, in an interview with "Bild", Andrich revealed that he was not cold towards his national team teammates at first.

Andrich said: "Our relationship gradually deepened during my second and third training camp with the German national team. There is a very interesting thing here. I once told Kimmich: 'I don't know why, but I hate you.' He responded: 'Hate is a strong word. '"

"Many friends still ask me how we get along so well. People tend to stereotype a person before they really get to know him. It's not a good thing that I have a bias against him. It's a good example of how as football players we are often different from how we are in real life."

"We are both the kind of people who look very serious during games and don't smile much. What I don't like about him is that if things don't go his way, he can quickly appear negative on the court. Not everyone likes this, and I didn't like it at first. Maybe it's because as an individual, I always hope that something will go wrong for Bayern. In a sense, it is actually a sign of respect. They have earned this respect over the years."
